Rice Krispie Treat Pops!

This adorable party treat is perfect for a birthday or baby shower, and can be eaten with no mess and no utensils!

Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz.) marshmallows or 4 cups mini-marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 6-12 oz. candy melts (in color of your choice), or chopped almond bark, or chopped chocolate
  • 12-14 paper straws, or bamboo skewers, or chopsticks
  • Ribbon (optional)
Directions:
  1. In a large, microwave-safe bowl, melt together the butter and marshmallows for 3 minutes on High, stirring after 2 minutes before returning to the microwave.
  2. Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
  3. Press mixture into a well buttered 13x9" pan and allow to cool.
  4. Cut Rice Krispies Treats into 4" x 2" bars, and skewer each bar carefully with a paper straw (allowing straw to sink about halfway into the treat, vertically.)
  5. In a small, microwave-safe bowl, melt candy melts or chocolate in the microwave on High in 30-second increments to prevent scorching. Stir in between each 30-second increment. Chocolate should be smooth and well melted after 3 or 4 stints in the microwave.
  6. To decorate pops, line up Rice Krispie pops on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Transfer melted candy or chocolate into a ziplock bag, snip off a small corner, and drizzle over pops. Alternatively, you can dip each pop halfway into the melted candy or chocolate. Allow candy/chocolate drizzles pops to firm up in the refrigerator until ready to serve. (These are best when served within a day.)
  7. Tie ribbon around each skewer for additional adornment, if desired.
