Are You Giving BIG This Year?

Do y’all remember when I wrote this post last year?

To give you a short recap: My family suffered two huge losses at the end of 2013 and start of 2014.  Attempting to process those losses was a mind-boggling feat.  (To be truthful, my siblings and I didn’t have the slightest clue how to begin to process what had happened to us.)  And so we decided to attend a special weekend retreat in the mountains of Tennessee that was put on by the Spark of Life Foundation.  Spark of Life is a ministry devoted to helping those who have experienced tremendous loss and are in deep grief.  It was a very healing weekend for us, in many ways.  You can read about our experience in greater detail here.

Grief Recovery Retreat at Whitestone Country Inn

So this December, I am carrying on my new tradition of having Pretty/Hungry match your donations to a special charity!  Last year, we gave to World Vision, and our gifts provided food, clothing, and education to hundreds of sweet children across the world.  This year, my heart is especially hurting for the many people who are in the depths of grief and need help with their healing, just like I did (and do.)

Spark of Life is committed to providing their retreats FREE of charge for every grieving person who comes their way.  And because of that commitment, they are in need of support from those of us who have the means to bless them financially.

Pretty/Hungry will match up to $1,000 in donations from you this December!  All you have to do is e-mail me a screenshot or attachment of your donation confirmation at ccprettyhungry{at}gmail.com.  (And good news: Another generous donor will be matching ALL donations made to Spark of Life this month… up to $25,000!!)  Please consider blessing the lives of hurting people this Christmas, alongside the blessings you are heaping upon your friends and loved ones.

If you’d like to give, you can do so online here.

Wishing you an absolutely lovely holiday,
