Oh, How I Love Thee…

If you’re anything like me, you have numerous mile-long lists of things you want, things you love, and things you want to try!  Most of my lists happen to be food-related, because apparently I’m a bit of a food nut.  (No pun intended.)

So today, in honor of The Holiday of LOVE (V-Day, of course) I wanted to share a Top Ten list with you!  These are the Top Ten Food-Related Things I’m Lovin’ This Year!  Some are recipes from other fabulous bloggers around the interwebs… some are products I have… some are products I wish I had!  All are awesome, clearly.  They wouldn’t be on this list if they weren’t.

10.  Because I’m soooo sick of the nasty Winter weather, this Honey White Sangria speaks to me.  When I look at it, I feel like Summer may really return to Arkansas someday.  Haven’t made this recipe yet, but can’t wait to!

8. My turnaround from taking “blah” and “blech” food photos to taking photos I can truly be proud of came after reading this book!  A sweet, thoughtful Christmas gift from my Dad a few years back.

7. Who can resist food-themed onesies??  Especially this precious “Homemade” onesie with a little cookie on it.  Not me, that’s for sure!  We own four of this brand of onesies and they are the softest in Elsa’s closet, my absolute faves!  (By the way, it doesn’t hurt that this one is currently listed for the unbeatable price of $3.99!)

 6. I have made this mouth-watering and heart-warming vegetable soup recipe and it is one of my favorites!  It’s also a great budget meal option, quite affordable.  It’s also meatless… whaaaat?  So it’s pretty much perfect.

5. While I’m in savory mode, get a load of this Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Alfredo!  I. Die.  I haven’t made this one yet, but as soon as I can squeeze goat cheese into the budget, it’s happening!

4. Have you jumped on the Quinoa Bandwagon yet?  This high-protein grain is tasty, affordable, and super healthy!  I can’t wait to try out these Caprese Quinoa Grilled Stuffed Mushrooms with Balsamic Glaze.  I’ll take twelve, if you please.

3. I recently took home this Pampered Chef Mini-Whipper from one of my Dad’s kitchen drawers.  I think he owned it for about two decades and never used it once.  But I am in love with it!  It is the perfect tool for whisking vinaigrettes together in a jar or measuring cup.  It’s also perfect for chocolate milk (no more goopy layer of syrup left on the bottom of the cup.)  It’s also useful for making milk foamy before you add it to your latte!

2. One of my favorite coffee shops of all time is Searcy’s own, Midnight Oil.  They make amaaaazing espresso, and walking through the door feels like coming home.  :)  Even more amazing, the shop is owned by a nonprofit group called The Kibo Group, and the profits from the business support physical & social development projects to better the lives of the sweet people in East Africa.  This video (below) gives a quick explanation of how The Kibo Group works to change lives!   If you don’t live near Midnight Oil, it’s just great to support local businesses when you can.  So I encourage you to find a local coffee shop in your community and take your business there!

1. I’ve had my eye on this cookie recipe for a loooooong, long time!  I just haven’t come up with a special enough occasion to warrant making such a fabulous cookie yet. (See I LOVE desserts, but making a whole batch of cookies for our family of 3 can be a bit dangerous.  Better to wait for a birthday party or something.)  Anyway, the title says it all! Brown Butter, Salted Caramel, Mocha Cookies.  Swoon.
