Superbowl Sausage Cups

~

First, let me say that you can make these super-easy Sausage Cups any darn time of the year you want, Super Bowl or no Super Bowl.  (In fact, I kid you not when I say that my husband and I insisted they be served at our wedding.)

Here’s your proof… that is a Sausage Cup on my plate in our wedding photo.  And it wasn’t the only one I ate that night, I can promise you that!

If you didn’t know how ridiculously easy these are to make, you’d definitely mistake them for a fancy appetizer.  It’s really the best of two worlds: All the beloved flavors of the crowd favorite (though none too classy) “sausage balls”… except dressed up to cocktail party status with baked wonton wrapper cups.

I just knew these needed to be shared with you for Super Bowl weekend.  You just can’t beat an easy and completely addictive finger food like this one when it comes to the big game!

Just hunt down some wonton or eggroll wrappers in your regular grocery store.  (Mine are usually found in the refrigerated section near the produce, or near the organic foods.  This is the brand I buy.)  If your store is out of wonton wrappers, just buy eggroll wrappers and cut them into fourths so that they’ll fit perfectly into your mini muffin pan.

See how perfectly they tuck into a mini muffin tin to make adorable little cups?

These cups pre-bake for just 5 minutes and then you can scoop in the cheesy, sausagey, magical filling!  (Only FOUR ingredients in this filling!!  When do I ever cook like this?  I’ll answer that: Never.)

10 more minutes in the oven and these babies are crisp and melty perfection.  And you better print out the recipe to bring to the Super Bowl party with you, because people will be asking for it!  (Just scroll to the bottom of this post for the printable.)

And while we’re on the subject of Super Bowl parties… here are a few more recipes I highly, highly recommend you add to your spread.  I know I’ll be enjoying them this year. :)  YUM.

5. One final post you might find helpful.

If you are hosting a Super Bowl party this year, I’m sure you’ve already realized how overwhelming it can be, especially if you are on a budget.  I am a huge proponent of sticking to a low grocery budget… and I find I am still able to entertain company on our strict food budget as long as I plan well and am willing to use a little elbow grease.  This is a post I wrote about how I pull it off!

Yes you CAN entertain company on a budget... here's how!

Hope you all enjoy the Super Bowl this year.  I plan on bringing a book (per usual)… and I’m super pumped about this one my father-in-law gifted me for Christmas!  :)  What are you reading right now?
